Wisconsin Heights Middle School

Wisconsin Heights Middle School provides opportunities for 155 sixth through eighth grade students to grow and build skills and knowledge that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

A well-rounded curriculum includes hands-on activities in technology education, family and consumer education, and art education. Band, Choir, and General Music are offered, and students receive individual or small group lessons in band and choir. Seventh and eighth graders may choose to take Spanish or German. All of these classes are in addition to the traditional core classes: math, algebra, science, social studies, language arts, and reading. Our proximity to the high school also provides the unique opportunity for our students to take upper level classes at the high school.

We take great pride in our middle school students as they continue to develop their ability to use technology in a meaningful way. Students receive instruction and use technology in all subject areas. Projects include digital cameras, photo editing, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, graphs, geometric design, Web quests, and other effective uses of the Internet.

Our students consistently exceed statewide testing averages on standardized assessments. In addition, we use these test results to help us identify both strengths and weaknesses, and to guide our annual goals and our school improvement efforts.

An after-school program is available which includes activities such as jazz band, art club.. We are a member of the middle school Badger Conference and offer athletic competition in girls' volleyball, boys' and girls' basketball, track, and cross country. Other special events and activities that foster academic and social growth include a variety show, ropes course, and an ongoing study of the Black Earth Creek.

We're proud of our students and our school. For more information we invite you to visit our web site (www.wisheights.k12.wi.us) or call us at 608-767-2586.
