Amy Green

Amy Green - Interventionist

Introduction

I earned my Bachelor's degree and Master's Degree at the University of WI-Stevens Point. In 2006, my family moved to the Wisconsin Heights District and we love everything that it offers! I have worked in the district as an elementary interventionist since 2018. In addition to classroom teaching experience at the preschool and third grade level, I have 17+ years of experience with intervention. My goal is to support students and provide them with strategies to strengthen their skills in both math and reading, which in turn will help build their confidence.

My Classroom

I work with small groups of students or individuals throughout the day supporting their math and reading skills. I use multi-sensory activities and games to help engage students and strengthen students' academic needs. At the K-2 level, I teach explicit phonics and build on skills to support comprehension as students transition to become independent readers.

Teaching Style

I try to make learning fun with different styles to best fit my students. They know that my room is an environment in which it is safe to take risks in order to better their skills. They are comfortable and enjoy an easy rapport all while at the same time, they know that the expectation is for them to try their best and work hard.
