Jessica Dempsey
Introduction
I graduated from UW- Platteville with a degree in Elementary education and minors in both early childhood and mathematics. I am currently taking classes for my Principal and Director of Instruction Licenses.
This is my 8th year teaching 5th grade at Wisconsin Heights.
In my free time I enjoy reading, hunting, fishing, and gardening. My husband, Ethan, and I often go golfing and spend time outdoors.
Our son, Brody, is almost 2 and he is the light of our lives and I can’t wait to share pictures and funny stories!
I am excited to learn new things and explore with students. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.
My Classroom
My classroom is a collaborative space focused on learning. We set high expectations and we treat each other and our selves with respect. I believe classroom should be a safe place for risk taking and making mistakes so we can learn and grow together.
Teaching Style
I would say my teaching style is a combination of team and independent learning. I love to have interactive whole group discussions with lively, and respectful, debates used to come to an understanding about how and why things work. I love to build understanding through trial and error along with self discovery of concepts. I hold my students to high learning standards, but support them with any needs along the way.
