The volleyball program is hosting a Share Night at the Cross Plains Culver's on Wednesday, March 26th from 5-8pm. Our players will be helping to serve food, and the more sales we generate, the higher percentage our volleyball program receives!

Over the weekend, the Wisconsin Heights Chess Club competed in its first-ever tournament, the Sauk Prairie Classic.
Lauren R., Catherine M., Devin D., and Andrew M. represented the club well, with everyone winning at least 50% of their games.
Catherine won all but one game to earn 2nd place in her division. Andrew went undefeated for 1st place in his division, and Wisconsin Heights won first place overall as a team.

How did students in Baking and Pastry celebrate pi day? By making pie, of course! 🥧
Mrs. Dempsey's 5th grade celebrated Pi Day (3.14) by writing a persuasive letter to Mrs. Dempsey's mom asking her to make pies! And she delivered!!!
The students enjoyed an afternoon treat of chocolate, apple, and cherry pie!

Congratulations to our next Vanguard Spotlight Award recipient, Cassie Meinholz! Mrs. Meinholz was presented with her certificate and gift card at the March 10, 2025, Board of Education meeting.
Mrs. Meinholz received her nomination from a student, Jolie L.
Jolie stated that Mrs. Meinholz made math class so fun for her last year and helped her understand topics. Mrs. Meinholz created interactive and fun activities to practice math which helped students learn it so much easier. She helped students learn how to fix the mistakes.
"Last year, at the beginning of the year I totally didn't understand anything, but then I asked her for help and she made it so easy to learn and I understood it so much easier after her guidance. "

Do you have a child that will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2025, or 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025, not already enrolled in the Wisconsin Heights School District? You are invited to sign up for a time slot and come and pre-enroll your child for Preschool and Kindergarten classes. You must sign up for a time slot, we can not accept walk-ins at this time.
Pre-registration is an important component in our district budget planning for the coming school year. We base our initial Preschool & Kindergarten staffing and class assignments on the number of students who are pre-registered. Please note, this pre-registration is only for Preschool and Kindergarten. Full online registration will be done in August.
Parents are asked to bring a few items to pre-registration:
1. Please provide verification of your child’s birth date in the form of their original birth certificate.
2. Proof of residency (utility bill, phone bill, lease, etc.) if you do not already have a child enrolled in the district.
At pre-registration, you will receive several forms to be completed immediately and others that may need to be completed before school begins in the fall. Forms can be found on our website if you are unable to attend at:

#VanguardPride Elementary students participated in making cancer ribbons in a variety of colors to support Justice for a Cure. This is an annual event done in partnership with the Dane County Sherrif Office. 💚
Students proudly turned over these colorful masterpieces to the officers who will give them to those battling or have survived this disease. The different colored ribbons represent the different types of cancer.

On Friday, some students got to visit with Freya the therapy dog and her mom, Jill! Freya is a Goldendoodle that comes to us from Dogs on Call, an organization that provides certified therapy dogs to visit various locations, such as nursing homes, hospitals, libraries, schools, correctional facilities and the Dane County Airport. We have her, as well as other dogs, come a couple times a month. The kids love when she comes and she definitely brings lots of smiles to all their faces 😊
