The Wisconsin Heights School District Open House will take place on Thursday, August 29th from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. All students (PK-12th grade) need to have their picture taken for their school ID, the yearbook, and their Skyward picture. We have set aside a quiet time for those students with sensory needs to have their pictures taken from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. GoRiteway Busing will be set up in the Elementary School Library during open house to assist families with bus questions. MS/HS students will be able to pick up devices, schedules, lock & locker, and lunch number information in the MS/HS main office. HS parking permits can be purchased there as well. Tuesday, August 27 - Day 2 of staff inservice - School Safety District Administrator, Michelle McGrath, kicked off the morning with some additional thank yous and celebrations. 🎉 Members of the Dane County Sheriff's Office came in and trained the staff on Standard Response Protocol (SRP). The staff split into groups and had tabletop discussions and classroom practice. More information will be coming out to parents/guardians about this from Michelle McGrath later today in Skyward. #VanguardPride

What a day Monday, August 26, 2024! It was the first day of inservice for the Wisconsin Heights staff and the day was filled with fun, energy, and so much excitement for the new year!💚 The day started off with District Administrator, Michelle McGrath, and Board of Education President, Barb Statz, welcoming the staff back and setting the stage for a great year! New staff and changes to staff were announced and we celebrated years of service milestones. 🥳 Administrators talked about goals for the year and our guest speaker......Tony Granato! 🏒Mr. Granato is American former professional ice hockey left winger and former head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey team. He served as head coach of the United States men's national ice hockey team at the 2018 Winter Olympics. 👏👏👏 Staff members played Rock, Paper, Scissors, Go! More on this in another post - but what a fun activity! Believe it or not, that was all done before 10:00 am! The Wyttenbach's Command Center Food Truck arrived for lunch around 11:30 with great food (as always) and during lunch. Student Council members from MS and HS handed out staff t-shirts they helped design over the summer. The rest of the day was spent in teams to plan and prepare for 2024-2025! Busy, but a great day and start to the new year! #VanguardPride

We're looking for people to help our students become better readers. As part of Reading Corps, you'll work with students 1:1 to provide extra practice and individual support. FT and PT opportunities are available beginning in January. Tutors earn a paycheck every 2 weeks plus up to $5,100 for tuition or student loans. The FFA Members from Wisconsin Heights did an AMAZING job of representing our school community at the Wisconsin State Fair this past weekend. They worked in the Discovery Barnyard, which educates fairgoers of all ages about many different aspects of Wisconsin Agriculture! Are you looking for something to do for a few hours a day that is rewarding and supports our students? We have the job for you! We are looking for someone to help in food services at the elementary school 2.5 hours a day. Tasks can vary between dishwashing, serving, using the system to check students through the line, and being an overall team player! We also need someone to help supervise the lunchroom while students eat and help at recess. This position would be for 3 hours a day. Are you interested but can’t do it every day? Online registration is open now until August 16th! All returning students must complete the annual online registration in Skyward before the end of the day on August 16th. If you miss the registration deadline, it will be necessary to visit your child's school or the District Office to complete the registration in person. New students attending the Wisconsin Heights School District must initially enroll with the District using a paper enrollment form.
