7th grade math reviewed percents by holding an auction. Students were given a catalog of percent problems with answers - some of which were incorrect. In teams, students had to solve the problems and determine which problems had correct solutions with them. The teams were then given $1,000, and the goal was to buy only problems that had correct solutions with them. If they purchased problems with incorrect solutions, they were charged $500.

Another great life lesson happening in the #VanguardPride district! Personal finance students are learning how to balance a checkbook!
In this activity, they had to search for 12 different transactions hanging around the classroom, record them in their register, and then they had to get their register checked to make sure the balance was accurate.
Finance can be fun!
#VanguardPride students were hard at work making their CO2 dragsters in 8th grade Tech Ed. They used band saws and sanders to make their original designs come to life!
Students will be racing them at the end of the unit . Cool!!!!
