School Census Information
(NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH NATIONAL CENSUS)
State law requires each school district to submit census information to the WI Department of Public Instruction each year. The census collection is not student registration or part of the national census.
The Wisconsin Heights School District is gathering census information for all children living within the school district’s boundaries between the ages of 0-20 years old.
Only households that are new to the district (students are not attending Wisconsin Heights for the 2022-2023 school year), have children 0-4 years old, children 19-20 years old, or the children do not attend schools within the Wisconsin Heights School District need to complete this form for the 2023-2024 school year.
Why is the census information important to the school district?
• It helps the school district plan our future enrollment in our district.
• It enables the district to send households age appropriate communications.

Activities during high school: Co-op swim team with Lodi, Drama Club, Art Club, NHS, Green Team, Students For Change, Honors Choir, Visual Arts Classic, Solo/Ensemble.
Dream job: Art teacher
Favorite memory: Swim team dinners and sleepovers with the Lodi and Heights girls. Hanging out at Julia's house and tubing on the lake. Also, crashing at Brooke's and watching horror movies my freshman year. The cast parties for Drama Club and Denny's/Benny's. Hello Dolly and My Fair Lady will always have a special place in my heart. Cracking up at Art club over wacky 4-person drawings. The highway cleanups for Green Team. Getting the chance to sing and perform in front of various crowds. I will never forget all the opportunities I had the chance to take part in.
Most proud of: Getting the lead for the musical this year and honestly just making it to the end of high school.

The 4K students worked on creating their very own "Valentine Tucker Turtle".
Tucker Turtle is a very special friend that helps the students with self-regulation. When children have mixed feelings of excitement, anger, sadness, etc, they can turn into Tucker by tucking the upper part of their bodies down into a shell to help them breathe and enter into a state of calmness.
The children wanted Tucker to have many friends so he wouldn't be lonely! So now he has 14 new friends!
They recreated "Izzy the Dog" by cutting out various shapes of all sizes to give him a special face that included varying emotions.
Izzy is our special class dog that travels to each 4K student's home to spend time with them. After the visit, the children share a journal of pictures that details the special visit.

All items in the lost and found will be available until after Parent/Teacher Conferences on Friday, February 24th at noon.
Anything left after noon will be donated.

All of the personal finance students escaped Unit 2: Checks & Registers! 💲
At the end of the unit, checks were stolen from their checkbooks, and they had to track down🧐 the thieves and get the checks back.
To identify the thieves, #VanguardPride students were given a breakout box where they had to crack a total of five locks.
To open four of the locks, they had to identify the parts of a check and balance a checkbook.
Once they got into the box, students found a black light flashlight, blank check, and a locked box. When they shined the blacklight flashlight on the check, they revealed the names of the thieves, who were Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Van Den Bergh, and Mr. Harrison.
The thieves were tracked down in the building and gave the students a key to the fifth lock for the locked box. Once in the locked box, students were rewarded with sweet treats!
If only all finances were this fun!🙃
We did it!! Another piece of the pie has been devoured by the 4K-5th grade students🥧!
Students celebrated with a Jersey/Favorite Team Day! Only 10,000 more gotcha tickets until the ultimate reward… smashing pies in Mr. Moore’s face! 😃

7th grade math finished their unit on proportional reasoning with writing their own proportional situation.
There were problems about Lady Gaga, Cardi B, LeBron James, Among Us, flying planes, cupcakes, and pineapples. Once students wrote a proportional problem, they had to create a poster of their situation that included a table, graph, equation, and constant of proportionality for their situation.
The #VanguardPride students had a lot of fun bringing their own interests into math and using them in what they were learning!

Wisconsin Heights Varsity Girls Basketball team took on Pardeeville on January 31st in a game at home. Unfortunately, Pardeeville prevailed with a final score of 49-62, but the girls played a good game, and we're sure this experience will help them through the remainder of the season.
Even though we lost, we still have our #VanguardPride!
