We have always been proud of our #VanguardPride community and this is just one more example of why it's THE BEST! 👍
Back in December, a group of people asked what was the total negative lunch account balance throughout the district and at the time, it was $6750. They decided to put the word out and ask for donations to help eliminate that amount.
As of January 10, 2023, the negative lunch balance was $8776 and we received $8767 in donations! WOW!!! Just, WOW! The original amount was surpassed and the donation nearly covered the updated total.💚
Thank you for all of your generous donations! We are truly blessed!🥰

More life lessons are being learned in #VanguardPride Personal Finance class!
Personal Finance students are doing a home buying simulation. They were each given jobs, income, savings, credit scores, and expenses, and they have to use their financial profile to buy their optimal house. Their goal is to find a house these will meet their needs but still leave them with enough in savings as an emergency fund to cover 3-6 months of expenses, spend no more than 30% of their monthly budget on housing, and keep their debt to income ratio lower than 43%.

4th grade celebrated their annual tradition of Harry Potter Day after they finished reading the Sorcerer's Stone!
Students decorated wands, read about legendary creatures, and created their very own chocolate frog cards.

Before the winter break, 6th and 7th grade reviewed solving equations using pixel art.
Each student had to solve 15 equations and then were given a unique puzzle piece that they had to color based on their answers to the equations. Then they had to bring their puzzle pieces together and arrange them into a picture. All 3 sections of math were able to arrange their pieces into a picture of Grinch.
