The 4th and 5th grade classes took a walking field trip to the Tech Ed 👷🧑💻 rooms where Mr. Hopper and some of his students showed off the variety of projects and classes that students can take when they get into high school!
The #VanguardPride elementary students and teachers were impressed with the garden sheds created by the HS construction 🛠️ class, the 3D printers 🖥️ with designs made by students in the CADD class and the bean bag boards made in the manufacturing class.
Thank you Mr. Hopper!

Oh no! Santa's stuck in the chimney! What would you do???

Mr. Marx's #VanguardPride biotech class worked with Dr. Jon Roll, a UW-Madison professor of Bacteriology and his assistant, April, a Phd candidate, on a biotech lab where they isolated plasmids to make Ecoli bacteria glow in the dark. In a separate lab, students genetically altered yeast cells that they took for the FACS classes and the end result of the lab - yeast glowing in the dark.

#VanguardPride Middle and High School students participated in a rollerblading gym class on Thursday. It looked like a roller rink in there!

The winners of the fire safety week contest arrived at school by fire truck on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
A huge shoutout to the Mazomanie and Black Earth volunteer fire departments for safely transporting the #VanguardPride winners.
Congratulations to Jacob, Easton, Elle, Jade, and Raegan

Mrs. Stenner's students are getting their wish granted today!
The #VanguardPride students made these beautiful snow covered trees to make their wish. They dipped bubble wrap into white paint for the trees. Glitter was also used to add some sparkle!
Enjoy the snow day!

It's time to acknowledge and celebrate our #Classof2023 with a #SeniorSpotlight on #VanguardPride senior, Haylei Roberson!
Plans after graduation: Attending Edgewood college for nursing.
Activities during high school: Drama club and band.
Dream job: Eventually I would love to work my way up to being a nurse on the psych unit of a hospital because mental health is something I’m very passionate about.
Favorite memory: Definitely all the drama club cast parties and anything drama or band related. During show weekends you practically live at the school and you grow bonds with people you never thought you would. I think every last show day performance I cried because even though practices are long and exhausting once the shows are over you go through deep post musical or play depression. I’ll also miss all the pep bands.
Most proud of: I am most proud of knowing early on what I was going to do with myself after high school. Already at the end of September I knew what college I will be attending and I’ve known for years that I wanted to go into nursing. I’m also just proud of getting through high school and getting through high school with wonderful people around me.
We're proud of you, Haylei! Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Wisconsin Heights Quality Students of the First Quarter!
Jacob B., a senior, and Clifton K., an eighth grader, were honored at the Wisconsin Heights Optimist luncheon meeting on November 18, 2022.
"Jacob is an amazing young man with a kind heart who goes out of his way to help others. He is a student leader on and off the basketball court who reaches out to students who might not have many connections at school."
"Clifton has a great attitude and maturity. Besides his involvement in sports he plays trombone in the 7/8th grade band and sings in the choir. Clifton is fun, kind and inclusive, a true leader."
Congratulations to both of you!

#VanguardPride 4K classes got together, along with their "pal", to have fun on Friday, November 12, 2022. It was 🍕"Pizza with a Pal" day!
Each student invited a "pal" to join them for stories, games, coloring, and of course, making their very own pizza!🥳 Oh, and we can't forget, they had to make chef hats!
Even with a small fuse issue that caused a delay with the pizza being cooked, there was so much fun and the kiddos were so 🤗excited to see their "pal" and spend some time in school with them.🥰

We couldn't agree with you more, Addison!
We are thankful for our #VanguardPride community!
